From swapping floppy disks to getting lost in worlds that stay with me.
Some of my earliest gaming memories are from the DOS era: Doom II was a revelation, Mortal Kombat II ran from MS-DOS, and installing a game could mean swapping through a stack of 16 floppy disks. First-person shooters, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Half-Life all helped shape the way I play.
Half-Life changed what I thought games could do. It was the first game that showed me how powerful the balance of action and storytelling could be. That balance still draws me in.
I enjoy a bit of everything, but RPGs and hack-and-slash games have a special place in my collection. I love quick, satisfying combat, meaningful choices, and stories that give me a reason to keep going.
